SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Duke men's tennis junior
Andrew Zhang fell in his opening match on Thursday at the 2021 ITA National Fall Championships to fifth seeded Matej Vocel of Ohio State.

Vocel won the opening set 6-2, but Zhang rallied for a 7-6 (7) tiebreak victory in the second frame to force a third set. Unfortunately, No. 20 ranked Vocel earned a 6-3 win in the final set to claim the win.

Zhang will next face Ole Miss' No. 21 ranked Nikola Slavic in the consolation round of 16. That match is slated for Friday at 11:30 a.m. PT at the at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.

If he wins that, he will face the winner of the Pietro Fellin (Pepperdine) versus No. 105 Francois Musitelli (Kentucky) match on Friday at 3:30 p.m. PT.
