Tennis Wraps Up Successful Battle in the Bay

DURHAM, N.C. - Saahith Jayaraman and Yannick Alexandrescou had a strong showing at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco. Jayaraman and Alexandrescou combined to go 5-3 in contested singles matches and 1-1 as a doubles pair. In the singles consolation championship, Alexandrescou topped Jayaraman, 6-2, 6-1.

After both dropped singles matches in the opening round, neither suffered another loss in a contested match until reaching the consolation finals against each other. In doubles, the pair won its first match and dropped its second.
