COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Duke men's tennis team concluded its time at the ITA Carolina Regional with a strong showing. Five Blue Devils participated in the singles main draw with two advancing to the Round of 16 while one doubles team advanced to the main draw Round of 16. Duke freshman Yannick Alexandrescou led the way with a quarterfinal appearance in the singles main draw.

Alexandrescou picked up a trio of singles victories to march to the quarterfinal. The Duke doubles duo of Dylan Long and Sebastian Eie registered a pair of wins in the main draw. The Blue Devil pair topped UNC Wilmington's William Dean and Jordi Domenech 8-7 (7-5) in the opening round before an 8-2 victory versus Hector Hertz Nissen and William Elmers of UNC Greensboro. The NC State pair of Cody Benton and Toby Kodat ended Duke's run with an 8-3 triumph in the Round of 16.

Eie and Jakub Smejcky represented the Blue Devils in pre-qualifying singles and both went 2-0 to move to the main draw.

In addition to Alexandrescou, Saahith Jayaraman went on a run with a pair of singles victories. Jayaraman upset the draw's No. 1 seed in Romain Gales of Clemson, 6-3, 7-5. Jayaraman then topped NC State's Lachlan McFadzean 6-4, 6-4 to reach the Round of 16 before bowing out against Clemson's Charlie Robertson.

Duke returns to competition Oct. 23-25 when it takes part in the Wake Forest Invite.
