DURHAM – Riding a seven-match win streak, the sixth-ranked Duke women's tennis team will hit the road this week for a pair of ACC contests at 13th-ranked Georgia Tech and at Clemson on March 12 and March 14, respectively.
The Blue Devils face the Yellow Jackets in a rematch of the Jan. 24 contest when Georgia Tech defeated Duke, 4-3, in Atlanta, Ga. The contest will be played Friday at 4 p.m., at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. On Sunday, Duke will take on the Tigers at 12 p.m., in Clemson, S.C., at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
THE SERIES WITH GEORGIA TECH
Duke (9-1, 4-0 ACC) and Georgia Tech (10-6, 3-2 ACC) will meet for the 48th time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 36-11. The Yellow Jackets have controlled the series as of late, winning eight out of the last 10 matches. In contests played in Atlanta, Ga., Duke has dropped three in a row and five out of the last six matches. Earlier this season, Duke fell, 4-3, to the Yellow Jackets, but the Blue Devils featured multiple match points to clinch the victory, but ultimately dropped the decision.
GEORGIA TECH IN THE RANKINGS
The Yellow Jackets come in No. 13 as a team in the national rankings. In the singles ledger, Georgia Tech features three ranked student-athletes – Kenya Jones (13), Victoria Flores (56) and Gia Cohen (123). In doubles action, the duo of Jones/Flores are No. 5.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME
No. 6 Duke fell to No. 12 Georgia Tech, 4-3, in a marathon match to end the 2021 ITA Kickoff Weekend on Jan. 24 in Atlanta. The Blue Devils won the doubles point by capturing wins on court No. 2 and No. 3. Duke received wins on court No. 6 and No. 5 to take a 3-1 lead, but the Yellow Jackets won on courts No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to capture the victory. The Blue Devils did have six match points on court No. 2, but eventually lost.
THE SERIES WITH CLEMSON
Duke and Clemson (6-8, 0-5) will tangle for the 56th time in series history with the Blue Devils leading, 34-21. The Blue Devils have won eight straight matches and in contests played in Clemson, S.C., Duke owns an 11-8 mark.
MOVING UP THE TEAM RANKINGS
Riding a seven-match win streak, Duke moved up to No. 6 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings, which were released Wednesday. Over the last four seasons, Duke has been ranked in the top 10 in 45 of the last 49 ITA rankings. The Blue Devils' victory over No. 5 Florida State on March 6 marked the 27th win over the last 10 years against a top 10 ranked opponent.

CHI MOVING UP WINS LIST
A product of Weston, Fla., Chi currently features a 124-36 all-time singles mark and with her next victory will move into a tie for fifth on Duke's all-time wins list along with Susan Sabo (125-48).
DOUBLES ACTION
In doubles action, Beck and Berankova have paced the Blue Devils with a 10-2 overall record, including winners of nine out of their last 10 matches. Chen and Drummy also features 9-3 mark on the year. The Blue Devils' duo of Bilokin and Chi have collected an 8-2 ledger, including a 4-0 mark in conference play. Since getting paired together last season, Bilokin/Chi have notched a 12-3 record, including a 6-0 ledger in conference action.
Dating back to last season, Duke has won 14 straight doubles points in dual matches.
HOME WIN STREAK
The Blue Devils currently feature a 53-match home winning streak at Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center and Ambler Tennis Stadium. The 53-match win streak is currently the longest among Power Five Conference teams with the next closest being North Carolina (41).
CHEN VERSUS RANKED
Over her four seasons with the Blue Devils, Chen has collected a 103-27 singles record. Of the 103 wins, 42 of them have come against ranked opponents.
MATCH-CLINCHING WINS
Chi clinched both of the Blue Devil wins over the weekend against No. 5 Florida State and No. 30 Miami. She has now clinched 24 Duke wins over the years. Of the other Duke student-athletes on the 2021 roster, Chen has clinched 12, while Bilokin (9), Zhao (6) and Beck (4) have closed out Blue Devil wins over their career.
IN ACC ACTION
Duke has won 46 out of the last 49 ACC matches, including 29 straight home ACC wins. Dating back to last season, the Blue Devils have won seven straight ACC contests.
COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Duke University will begin its spring sport program seasons without spectators at home events. Contests played on Duke's campus will include essential game management personnel and broadcast media. Traditional parking lots used by fans on game day will be closed.
