DURHAM – The Duke women's tennis team opens a four-match homestand this weekend as the Blue Devils welcome Syracuse and Boston College to Durham. On Friday, March 1, 18th-ranked Duke (6-4, 0-2 ACC) hosts the 46th-ranked Orange (7-2, 2-1) at 6 p.m., followed by a contest with the 55th-ranked Eagles (6-4, 1-2) on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m.
All of Duke's remaining matches will be played outside at Ambler Tennis Stadium unless inclement weather forces the matches to be moved to the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. Parking for the weekend is available in the Blue Zone. To view the map, click

Sunday's match will recognize Duke's centennial celebration, marking 100 years since Trinity College became Duke University. The Blue Devils haven't played a home match since January 27 and have only compete in four matches over the last 34 days.

Centennial Celebration

The Series with Syracuse
Duke and Syracuse will square off for the 14th time in school history. The Blue Devils are a perfect 13-0 all-time in the series. The two last faced off on Mar. 24, 2023 resulting in a Duke win, 6-1. Duke and Syracuse will meet for the seventh time in Durham. In Durham, the Blue Devils are 6-0 all-time and registered a 7-0 win the last matchup on Mar. 20, 2022.
Scouting Syracuse
Syracuse holds a 7-2 record on the season with the Orange dropping their latest matchup against Georgia Tech, 3-4. In the latest ITA rankings, Miyuka Kimoto is the lone representative in the singles ledgers for the Orange at No. 100. As a team, Syracuse currently sits at the No. 46 slot in the ITA rankings. The Orange garners a roster full of experience as the team returns five members, including Polina Kozyreva (Grad.) and two seniors in Ines Fonte and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya from a season ago.
The Series with Boston College
Duke and Boston college will compete against each other for the 20th time in school history. The Blue Devils hold a 19-0 record against the Eagles. In matches played in Durham, Duke is 10-0, winning its last matchup, 6-1.
Scouting Boston College
Boston College possesses a 6-4 overall record on the season and is coming off winning its last matchup against Stonehill College, 4-0. In the latest ITA rankings, Boston College currently slots at No. 55.
What is Next?
Duke will remain at home for a pair of ACC matches against Clemson (March 8) and Georgia Tech (March 10) next weekend.

- Duke junior Ellie Coleman missed both of the Blue Devils' matches over the weekend in Florida.Coleman is ranked No. 81 nationally in singles.
- Junior Emma Jackson registered her third career victory over a top-10 opponent recently as she defeated 10th-ranked Alexa Noel of Miami with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 win on the road.Jackson now owns six victories on the season against ranked foes.
- After seeing limited action as a freshman, Katie Codd had an impressive fall totaling a 7-3 record, including winners of five out of her final six matches.She tallied a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Vanderbilt's Celia Belle Mohr for the highest ranked victory of her career. Codd won her first six dual matches of her collegiate career.
- So far this season, Duke has received two ACC weekly honors – Shavit Kimchi (ACC Freshman of the Week) and Brianna Shvets and Iuliia Bryzgalova (ACC Doubles Team of the Week).
- Graduate student Iuliia Bryzgalova needs five singles wins to reach 100 for her collegiate career, while fellow graduate student Brianna Shvets needs seven wins for 100.
- The Blue Devils have won 50 out of the last 51 matches when winning the doubles point.Duke had won 47 in a row, before a defeat in the NCAA Tournament second round last season to UCLA.
- In the fall, freshman Shavit Kimchi became the first Blue Devil to open her collegiate career with a pair of top-30 ranked wins since Beatrice Capra accomplished it in 2010-11.Over the last 17 years, only Kimchi and Capra registered this feat.
