DURHAM – The 23rd-ranked Duke women's tennis team will hit the road this week for a pair of ACC matches as the Blue Devils face 31st-ranked Wake Forest and 14th-ranked NC State on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Duke (10-5, 3-3 ACC) will meet the Demon Deacons (12-6, 4-1 ACC) on Friday at 3:30 p.m., at the Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., and then the Blue Devils travel down Tobacco Road for a match with the Wolfpack (14-4, 4-1 ACC) on Sunday at 2 p.m., at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

The Series with Wake Forest
Duke and Wake Forest will square off for the 71st time in school history. The Blue Devils possess an impressive 66-4 record against the Demon Deacons all-time in the series. The two squads will meet for the 26th time in Winston-Salem. In matches played in Winston-Salem, Duke holds a 22-3 record winning its last matchup against Wake Forest, 4-3, on April 3, 2022.
Scouting Wake Forest
Wake Forest holds a 12-6 overall and 4-1 ACC record on the season and is coming off a 5-2 win against Syracuse. According to the latest ITA rankings, the Demon Deacons are ranked No. 31 as a team. Casie Wooten is the sole representative in the singles ledgers at No. 38. In doubles, the duo of Brooke Killingsworth/Marcella Cruz (79) are ranked.
The Series with NC State
Duke and NC State will meet for the 65th time in series history. The Blue Devils are currently 62-2 all-time in the series. Duke and NC State will meet for the 25th time in Raleigh. In matches played in Raleigh, the Blue Devils are 29-1. Duke won its latest matchup, 4-3, at NC State on April 1, 2022.
Scouting NC State
NC State possesses a 14-4 overall and 4-1 ACC record with the Wolfpack defeating Boston College, 5-2, in their latest match. In the latest ITA rankings, NC State slots in at No. 14 in the team ledger. In singles rankings, the Wolfpack features -- Amelia Rajecki (5), Anna Zyryanova (43), Abigail Rencheli (51) and Sophie Abrams (110). In doubles, Sophie Abrams/Anna Zyryanova (10) and Amelia Rajecki/Maddy Zampardo (13) are ranked. The Wolfpack will face No. 6 North Carolina on March 22 before squaring off against No. 23 Duke on March 24.

Brianna Shvets – are approaching the 100-win singles mark of their careers.
Bryzgalova features 98 wins over her career at Duke and Penn, while Shvets owns 97 wins at Duke and Princeton.
With her doubles win recently, Bryzgalova totaled her 100th career doubles win and moved her career doubles ledger to 102-30. She also owns a 70-14 career dual match doubles mark and is 25-2 over her time in the ACC and Ivy League in doubles.
Ashworth Reaches 600 Wins
Head coach
Jamie Ashworth reached his 600th victory on Jan. 20 in a 4-2 win over Illinois. He accomplished this mark in only 747 matches becoming the quickest coach to 600 wins.

Ashworth became the seventh NCAA Division I coach to reach the 600-win ledger – Loring (846), Wallace (818), Kalbas (748), Jay Louderback (703), Geoff MacDonald (631), Gualberto Escudero (Pepperdine) and Ashworth (600).
Noting the Blue Devils
- Duke junior Ellie Coleman missed the last seven matches since the Blue Devils opened ACC action. Coleman is ranked No. 83 nationally in singles.
- Iuliia Bryzgalova has won six out of her last eight singles matches and three in a row, while Brianna Shvets has won 12 out of her last 15.
- Senior Karolina Berankova has won three out of her last four singles matches, while Ellie Coleman has won five out of her last six.
- Junior Emma Jackson registered her third career victory over a top-10 opponent recently as she defeated 10th-ranked Alexa Noel of Miami with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 win on the road. Jackson now owns seven victories on the season against ranked foes. She owns 13 wins over her last 17 singles matches with five ranked wins.
- After seeing limited action as a freshman, Katie Codd had an impressive fall totaling a 7-3 record, including winners of five out of her final six matches. She tallied a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Vanderbilt's Celia Belle Mohr for the highest ranked victory of her career. Codd won her first six dual matches of her collegiate career. Codd is currently 7-0 on the season playing at the No. 4 singles slot, while winning three in a row and nine out of her last 12 matches.
- So far this season, Duke has received three ACC weekly honors – Shavit Kimchi (ACC Freshman of the Week twice) and Brianna Shvets and Iuliia Bryzgalova (ACC Doubles Team of the Week).
- The Blue Devils have won 54 out of the last 54 matches when winning the doubles point. Duke had won 47 in a row, before a defeat in the NCAA Tournament second round last season to UCLA.
- In the fall, freshman Shavit Kimchi became the first Blue Devil to open her collegiate career with a pair of top-30 ranked wins since Beatrice Capra accomplished it in 2010-11. Over the last 17 years, only Kimchi and Capra registered this feat.
