DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's golf team will stay local this week as the Blue Devils compete in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the 6,095-yard, par-70 Finley Golf Club from Oct. 17-19 in Chapel Hill.
Seeing action this week will be Duke, North Carolina, Purdue, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida International, Kentucky, UNC Wilmington, South Carolina, NC State, Auburn, Michigan, Louisville and Rollins College.
Each team will play 18 holes each day with tee times Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m., off hole No. 1 and No. 10. Sunday's final round will feature a shotgun start at 8 a.m., off No. 1 and No. 10.

Anna Cañado Espinal and freshman
Rianne Malixi.
The Blue Devils are coming off tying for first at the Windy City Collegiate Classic along with tournament host Northwestern. Duke posted rounds of 283, 287 and 281 for a 13-under, 851. Leading the Blue Devil charge were Cañado Espinal (T4, -5), Smith (T6, -4) and Li (T6, -4). The win was head coach
Dan Brooks' 145th of his coaching career and has now led the Blue Devils to at least one win in 40 of his 42 seasons in Durham.
This will mark the 46th time Duke will compete in the Tar Heel Invitational, with the Blue Devils bringing home the hardware a total of 17 times (2024, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997 and 1988. Brooks has guided the Blue Devils to all 17 titles.

Last season, Duke claimed both the team and individual titles in Chapel Hill as Smith shot a 7-under, 203, to win the individual crown, while the Blue Devils carded a 54-hole ledger of 856 to win the team championship.
Duke will open play Friday morning, beginning at 8:30 a.m., off hole No. 1. The Blue Devils' tee times will go from 8:30 to 9:18 a.m.
