The Opening Pass Back
- Duke continues its four-game road swing this weekend at No. 2 Virginia (Oct. 3) and James Madison (Oct. 5). The Blue Devils are 6-3 overall, 2-1 in league action and 3-1 in road matches this season.

- Friday's contest pits No. 2 Virginia versus No. 7 Duke, marking the 64th top 10 matchup for the Blue Devils under head coach Pam Bustin. Duke is 27-36 in those meetings.
- This will be the 13th meeting since 2011 with both the Blue Devils and Cavaliers ranked in the top 10. Duke is 3-9 in the matchups with the last win being a 2-1 overtime win for the No. 4 Blue Devils against eighth-ranked Virginia.

- Duke and Virginia meet for the 66th time Friday. The Cavaliers lead the series 42-23 and have won four of the past five. Duke's last win came in Charlottesville, a 2-1 overtime thriller. Three of the past five matchups have gone into overtime and all five were decided by a single goal.
- The Blue Devils and Dukes square off for the 37th time Sunday. Duke is 23-12-1 all-time against James Madison and has won 11 of the previous 12 contests. JMU defeated Duke, 4-2, in Durham in 2022. Duke is averaging 3.2 goals per game against James Madison in the past six games.
