DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's soccer team concludes its three-match road trip on Sunday, Sept. 14, with a conference match at California. The 19th-ranked Blue Devils (2-0-2) begin ACC play against the Golden Bears (3-2-0) at 5 p.m., ET, with live streaming available on ACC Network Extra.Â
MATCHUP NOTES
- Sunday marks just the second all-time meeting between the two teams.
- California claimed a 2-0 win last season during the 2024 ACC Tournament, in the lone game of the series.
FIRST TOUCH
- The Blue Devils rallied late in their most recent match, scoring twice within 30 seconds inside the 85th minute at Georgetown, drawing 2-2 with the Hoyas. Kenan Hot scored the first goal and Leonardo D'Ambrosio equalized seconds later.Â
- Duke's duo of Italian transfers, Alessandro Arlotti and Leonard D'Ambrosio have seen their name all over the scoresheet through Duke's first four games. Arlotti, a Harvard transfer, has assisted two game winners, against San Diego and UC San Diego, while D'Ambrosio, arriving from College of Charleston, scored the only goal in the Blue Devils' 1-0 win over the Tritons and capped Duke's comeback at Georgetown.
- Duke is one of eight ACC teams ranked in this week's USC poll.
ALL-ACC TALENT RETURNS
- The Blue Devils return key pieces from last season's squad, including four All-ACC selections.
- Ulfur Bjornsson was selected as a First Team All-ACC honoree, while Kamran Acito and Kenan Hot earned Third Team recognition. Rising sophomore Jamie Kabuusu was Duke's lone honoree on the Freshman Team.Â
2025 ACC OUTLOOK
- Duke was voted to finish fourth in the ACC this season, garnering 160 total votes and two first-place votes, in the preseason coaches poll.
- Ulfur Bjornsson was Duke's selection to the ACC Preseason Watch List. Clemson was picked to win the league, with 185 total, and four first-place votes.Â
