Gameday Details
- The Blue Devils host No. 1 Northwestern and No. 4 Maryland for a pair of games this weekend. Duke's Friday matchup with the top-ranked Wildcats will air on ACC Network at 6 p.m., while the Sunday contest with the Terps is at 3 p.m., in ACC Network Extra.
- Admission to the game is free and parking is available for fans at 705 Broad Street.
The Opening Hit
- Durham will be the focal point for NCAA field hockey this weekend as the Nos. 1, 4, 5, and 8 teams will be on display at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium for the ACC/B1G Challenge. The Blue Devils take on No. 1 Northwestern on ACC Network Friday and host No. 4 Maryland Sunday on ACCNX. The Northwestern vs. Boston College match also will air on ACC Network.
- Duke enters the weekend after splitting the first two games of the season with a tough loss to No. 17 Liberty and a 2-1 rebound win at American. Five different players scored for the Blue Devils on the opening weekend, including three who notched their first career goals.
- This will be the 10th installment of the weekend tournament featuring Boston College, Duke, Maryland and Northwestern. The Wildcats have had the best success recently, winning six straight (2022-24). The Blue Devils have beaten the Terrapins in each of the past two outings.

ACC/B1G Challenge X
- For the 10th time since 2015, the duo of Maryland and Northwestern meet Duke for the annual ACC/B1G Challenge. Duke is 11-7 all-time in the event. The Blue Devils went 9-1 in the first five tournaments before going three seasons without a victory. Duke has defeated Maryland and lost to Northwestern in each of the past two seasons.
- Northwestern is 6-0 in the past three ACC/B1G Challenge events and last lost in the non-conference tournament in 2021 - a 2-1 loss to Boston College.
- Maryland is 4-2 the past three years, including going 1-1 in 2023 and 2024 - both losses to the Blue Devils.

Series Histories
- Duke and Northwestern meet for the 17th time overall. The series is dead even at eight wins apiece, but it is the Wildcats who have had the recent success with five straight wins. Prior to the 2021 setback to Northwestern in 2021, the Blue Devils had won six consecutive.
- The Blue Devils and Terrapins square off for the 56th time since the first matchups in 1985. Maryland holds a commanding 36-16-3 lead, but Duke has won three straight versus the Terps, including last year's NCAA Tournament first round win.
