DURHAM, N.C. - On Sunday, October 18 the Duke men's tennis team will pair with Harper's Home to benefit families at Duke Children's.
In collaboration with Marcelle and Jon Scheyer and the Duke Faculty Club, the pickleball and tennis mixer will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the Duke Faculty Club. Participants will choose pickleball or tennis and take part in two hours of clinics, games and fun challenges.
Harper's Home was founded on the belief that when a child is fighting a life-threatening illness, their family should be by their side without the added worry of where to stay. The organization is committed to providing a supportive and affordable place for these families to call home during their child's treatment journey.
"Our staff and players are grateful for the opportunity to help raise impactful funds to support the Harper's Home mission of building housing for families whose kids are receiving treatment at Duke Children's," Duke head coach
Ramsey Smith said. "Please come out and join us next Sunday for this fun afternoon of tennis, pickleball and community!"
A silent auction with Duke items will also be held that day to raise additional support for Harper's Home.Â
