- The Blue Devils' stalwart defense is proving why it's considered one of the best in the country, holding teams to 7.17 goals and to just 30.5 shots per game. Charlie Johnson (10), Henry Bard (9), Aidan Maguire (7) and Will Pedicano (7) have combined for 33 caused turnovers and 51 ground balls. Johnson and Bard lead the charge off the ground with 14 ground balls. In goal, Patrick Jameison has a 6.59 goals against average and a .595 save percentage.

About Providence
- Providence enters the weekend with a 3-4 overall record and coming off a road loss at Loyola last weekend. The Friars' wins have come against Merrimack, Bryant and Holy Cross.
- Rhett Chambers headlines the Providence offense with 33 points (14g, 19a) to rank 12th nationally in points per game. The next highest scorer on the Friars' roster is Matt Lazzaro with 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points. Providence is averaging 10.57 goals per game on 27 percent shooting.
- Defensively, Providence allows 10.14 goals per game and 37.9 shots per game. The Friars' opponents are shooting 27 percent on the season, while Cam Sterritt is saving 56 percent of the shots he sees on goal. Ian Olenik is the top takeaway artist with 14 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls. He also is effective in transition with two goals and three assists. The faceoff unit is led by Chris Esposito at 52-of-99 (.525) and Jack Cooper at 29-of-64 (.453).
Best of Both Worlds
- Just as Duke University is elite in both academics and athletics, Duke lacrosse excels on both the offensive and defensive ends. The Blue Devils lead the nation in scoring offense and are fourth in scoring defense. Duke is the lone Division I program to rank in the top five in both categories.
- Offensively, the Blue Devils are the only team to score at least 20 goals in three different games this season. Duke is also the only program in the ACC to have three different players score at least five goals in a game this season - Benn Johsnton (3x), Max Sloat and Kyle Colsey.
- Defensively, Duke's 43 goals allowed are the third fewest of any Division I program this season and are the fewest in the first six games to start a season since 2008. Aidan Maguire's four caused turnovers against Jacksonville are tied for the most by a player in the ACC.
Elite Defending Leads to Elite Goaltending
- Duke goaltender Patrick Jameison excels between the pipes. While leading the nation in goals against average at 6.59, Jameison ranks 59th of 75 teams in saves per game (9.83). This means Jameison's defense in front of him forces opponents to take tough shots to give the elite shot stopper the best chance possible to make a save.
- Duke has held four opponents to fewer than 30 shots in a game this season and five foes to fewer than 20 shots on goal over 60 minutes. In every game this season, the Blue Devils have forced more turnovers than shots allowed on goal.
