CARLSBAD, Calif. – Duke men's golf senior
Ethan Evans finished No. 20 in the final PGA TOUR University Ranking, earning membership on PGA TOUR Americas for the remainder of the 2026 season, as announced by the PGA TOUR following the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA Championship.
By finishing among the top 25 players in the rankings, Evans also secured an exemption into Second Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry. Players ranked Nos. 11-25 receive PGA TOUR Americas membership for the remainder of the 2026 season, beginning with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open presented by Syndeo on June 25-28.
A native of Mercer Island, Washington, Evans capped a standout senior campaign by tying for 10th place at the NCAA Championship with a 7-under-par 281. The finish marked the best individual performance by a Blue Devil at the NCAA Championship since Ryan Blaum tied for 10th in 2006.
Evans also rewrote Duke's NCAA Championship record book, posting a 72-hole score of 7-under-par 281 to eclipse the program's previous record in relation to par by three strokes. He was one of only five golfers in the NCAA Championship field to card under-par rounds in all four rounds of competition.
Throughout his senior season, Evans recorded five top-10 finishes, including three top-five showings and one tournament victory. He tied for first place at the ACC Championship with an 8-under-par 208, matching the third-lowest 54-hole score in Duke ACC Championship history and producing the program's best individual finish at the conference championship since 2005. His second-round 6-under-par 66 was Duke's lowest round at the ACC Championship since 2019 and made him just the seventh Blue Devil to shoot 6-under or better at the event.
Evans also delivered one of the strongest performances of his collegiate career at The Bryson Invitational. After opening with a 69 in the second round, he closed the tournament with a career-matching 7-under-par 65 to finish tied for second place at 12-under-par 204.
During postseason play, Evans continued his stellar form with a final-round 3-under-par 69 at the NCAA Marana Regional, helping lead Duke to the NCAA Championship while finishing tied for 22nd individually at 4-under-par 212.
Over four seasons with the Blue Devils, Evans established himself among the most accomplished golfers in program history. He concluded his career ranked eighth in Duke history with a 72.18 stroke average, second with 36 rounds in the 60s, third with 59 under-par rounds, second with 75 rounds of par or better, and tied for fifth with 10 career top-five finishes.
His senior season also ranks among the best in school history. Evans' 71.00 stroke average stands fifth on Duke's single-season chart, while his 26 rounds of par or better rank third, his 21 under-par rounds rank third and his 13 rounds in the 60s are tied for fourth.
Evans arrived at Duke as the top-ranked junior golfer in the state of Washington according to Junior Golf Scoreboard and leaves Durham as one of the premier players in program history.
