DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's soccer team fell, 3-0, to No. 6 Georgetown on Sunday, Aug. 30, at Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium. The two teams played to a 0-0 tie through the first 45 minutes, but three second-half goals by the Hoyas, including two after Duke went a man down, helped the visitors secure the win.

Duke (2-2) turns its attention to the first match in conference play, traveling to take on Wake Forest (1-1-1) at Spry Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Duke nearly opened the scoring in the opening moments of the match, with a centering pass narrowly making its way through the six-yard box.
Max Deisenhofer made his first save of the evening with a low save on a shot from close range in the 16th minute.
Georgetown mustered a shot off target in the 19th minute, but neither team registered another shot for the remainder of the first half, as the score sat 0-0 following 45 minutes of play.
The Hoyas broke the ice in the 55th minute, with a goal off a free kick.
Duke went a man down in the 66th minute after a second yellow and Georgetown took advantage, scoring twice in the final 20 minutes for the final scoreline of 3-0.
