Duke Falls, 6-1, at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Duke men's soccer team fell behind by five goals in the first half at Wake Forest, before eventually dropping the road conference matchup, 6-1, at Spry Stadium on Saturday night. The Blue Devils (2-3) got a goal back in the second half from Julius Suber, who earned the first goal of his season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The hosts quickly got on the board, opening the scoring in the third minute. The Demon Deacons doubled their lead just over eight minutes later, in the 11th minute.
After the two teams settled into the run of play through the next stage of the match, Wake Forest reeled off three quick goals in less than four minutes, finding the back of the net in the 32nd, 33rd and 36th minutes.
Duke's Julius Suber scored the first goal of the second half, tucking a left-footed shot into the bottom corner. Jack Ottley was credited with the assist, giving the freshman his fourth helper of the season and extending his margin as the top assist man on the team.
The Blue Devils went down a man in the 53rd minute after denying a goal-scoring opportunity and Wake Forest got its sixth in the 68th minute.
The two teams played level the rest of the way, as the Blue Devils took their first loss in a conference opener for the first time in six years.
