DURHAM, N.C. - Duke men's soccer returns home after back-to-back road matches and begins an six-match homestand by welcoming Queens to Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium on Tuesday. The Blue Devils (2-4) and Royals (1-4-1) will kick off at 6 p.m., and fans can buy tickets here or stream the match live on ACC Network Extra.

- The Blue Devils and Royals meet for just the third time in the series.
- The all-time record sits at 1-0-1.
- Duke won the first meeting, 5-0, in 2024 before the two teams played to a 0-0 draw last season.
- Duke will aim to snap a four-match skid, after dropping results to Furman, No. 6 Georgetown, Wake Forest and NC State. The Blue Devils have lost four consecutive regular-season matches for the first time since the 2020-21 COVID season, when Duke lost matches to Clemson, No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 4 North Carolina and No. 1 Pittsburgh.
- The Blue Devils have been bit by the injury bug in the opening weeks of the season, with multiple players playing significant minutes in new spots on the pitch. Duke's backline has been hit the hardest, with multiple anticipated returning starters missing from the XI to start the season.
- Preston Zabinko and Jamie Kabuusu, two of Duke's expected returning defenders, have been sidelined all season, while Maxwell Simpson and Josh Poulson both picked up knocks during the preseason. Thomas Vold sat against Furman, Georgetown and Wake Forest before returning to the lineup at NC State. Ian Hecker, who subsequently embraced a starting role on defense, missed the Georgetown and Wake Forest matches.
- Key substitute Ari Racaj also sat against the Hoyas before returning and starting against the Demon Deacons, while Poulson made his Duke debut at Wake Forest and Simpson logged 23 minutes at NC State.
- In total, Duke has been looking to work through injuries to seven anticipated contributors.
- In their place, several freshmen and returning Blue Devils have stepped up. Julius Suber has moved from the midfield to the back line, while defender Tucker Smith earned his first career start against Georgetown and forward Adrian Byasiima made the move to defense against the Hoyas. To help fill the spots left in the midfield and attack, freshmen Ethan Congleton, Logan Moniz, Jack Ottley, and Max Steelman have been consistent starters.
- Senior Nathan Gaviser started in goal at NC State in Duke's most recent match, his first career start in conference play, and has made seven saves across 135 minutes played.
- Freshman winger Jack Ottley is second on the team for total points, with eight, fueled by four assists and two goals.
- The newcomer is one of just four freshmen in the entire country to have tallied at least four assists this season and he leads all ACC freshmen in the category.
- His eight points are tied for ninth overall in the ACC and second amongst freshmen.
- Tuesday marks the start of a six-match homestand that includes two key ACC matches against Virginia Tech (Sept. 18) and No. 1 Stanford (Oct. 2)
- Duke plays a schedule this season that features 13 home matches during its 17-match slate.
