DURHAM, N.C. — Duke wrestling head coach
Glen Lanham announced Wednesday that
Aidan Wallace, Raymond Adams and
Riley Rowan will serve as team captains for the 2026-27 season.
Â
The trio will provide leadership for a Blue Devil squad entering its 14th season under Lanham.Â
Â
Adams, a product of Merrick, New York, is in his fourth season with the Blue Devils and was named captain for the second time in his career, having also served as one of Duke's three captains during the 2024-25 season. The 141-pounder earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors in each of his first three seasons, while also being named to the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll three times. Adams started at 141 pounds for Duke in 2025-26 and totaled nine victories, including a 7-5 decision on the road against North Carolina's Marco Tocci. The win marked his third consecutive season with at least one ACC victory.
Â
Rowan enters his second season of competition with the Blue Devils. Competing at 125 and 133 pounds in 2025-26, Rowan earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors and All-ACC Academic Team recognition, while being named to the ACC Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. Rowan, who hails from Perry, Ohio, totaled four victories, including a 2-0 decision against Sacred Heart's Joe Clem that helped seal Duke's season-opening victory at 125 pounds.
Â
Wallace, a native of Mahwah, New Jersey, returns for his third season of competition with the Blue Devils and was one of three team captains in 2025-26. A starter at 174 pounds last year, Wallace posted a career-high 26 victories, ranking tied for third in Duke history at the weight class. He became the 14th Blue Devil to record 20 or more wins in back-to-back seasons and just the fourth to accomplish the feat at multiple weight classes. Wallace went 5-1 in ACC regular-season duals, was ranked as high as No. 20 by InterMat and No. 21 in the NCAA Division I coaches' rankings, and captured the 174-pound title at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.
Â
Wallace also finished third at the Southern Scuffle for the second consecutive season and enters 2026-27 with a 49-19 career record.
Â
Duke opens the 2026-27 season Sunday, Nov. 1, with the Black and Blue Matches at noon in Durham. The action will take place in Card Gymnasium. Duke's first regular-season event will take place Nov. 7 at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
