JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duke volleyball recorded its third win of the season Friday evening, as it defeated North Florida 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23) inside the UNF Arena.

Duke (3-1) staged an impressive comeback in the fourth set to pull off the victory over North Florida (3-2). The Blue Devils split the opening two sets and won a pair of nailbiters in the third and fourth sets to clinch their second true road victory of the season.

Nataly Moravec led the Duke attack, tying her career high with 20 kills while hitting .356. Joining her in double-figure kills was Ashby Zubchevich with 11 and Avery Hamlin with 10.

Duke finished the night hitting .289. Nikki Quinn was the quarterback of the offense, recording a season-high 44 assists. The setter also recorded three kills on three attacks. Another key to the Blue Devils victory was the service line, where Duke recorded 11 aces compared to North Florida's two.

On defense, the Blue Devils won the blocking battle 10-4. Breonna Goss tied her season and career-high with seven to lead Duke. Mailinh Godschall had a game-high 10 digs.

How it Happened
Set 1 – Duke 25, North Florida 17

The two teams traded points early in the opening set, as Duke led 11-10 through the opening 21 points of the match. The Blue Devils were able to open it up by winning the next five points to take a commanding 16-10 advantage.
The Blue Devils' lead never got smaller than five points the rest of the frame, and Duke clinched the opening set on an Osprey serving error.
Duke's offense dominated with a .500 hitting percentage, while the defense held North Florida to .219. Moravec led the Blue Devils with six kills in the frame while Zubchevich had four. Both players hit .500 and did not record an error.
At the net, the Blue Devils recorded five blocks while the Osprey had just one.

Set 2 – North Florida 25, Duke 22

North Florida opened the second frame, winning eight of the opening 12 points and led the rest of the way, despite Duke narrowing the lead to one late.
Trailing 23-20, Duke won back-to-back points on a Moravec kill and North Florida attacking error but couldn't jump ahead. North Florida won the next two points to even the match at 1-1.
Both teams hit .222 in the frame, while Duke outblocked North Florida 3-0.

Set 3 – Duke 25, North Florida 20

Following the theme of the opening two sets, things were even at 5-5 through the first 10 points before Duke won three in a row to take the lead.
The Blue Devils led 15-12 at the media timeout and continued to hold the advantage for the remainder of the set.
Leading 20-18, Duke won four of the next five points to get to the set point. Over that stretch, Moravec recorded three kills.
Gillen-Malveaux recorded a booming kill from the right pin to put Duke ahead 2-1.
Moravec was incredibly efficient in the frame, recording six kills on eight attempts with no errors. Gillen-Malveaux added four on seven attempts, while also going error free.

Set 4 – Duke 25, North Florida 23

After trading points to open the fourth set, North Florida seemed in control for much of the set. The Osprey's led 20-15 and seemed to be on the way to forcing a fifth set. However, Duke won four of the next five points to cut the deficit to 21-19.
Trailing 23-22 after a service error, Duke won the next three points thanks to a kill from Moravec, a North Florida attacking error and a match-clinching kill from Hamlin.
The Blue Devils struggled offensively in the frame, hitting just .116, but used four aces to help clinch the win.

Duke outkilled North Florida 56-48. Both teams had three players with double-digit kills.
The Blue Devils hit .289, while North Florida hit .233.
Duke won the ace battle 11-2. Godschall had a game-high three aces.
