Dustin Gwinn joined Duke Athletics as an Equipment Operations Assistant in 2023. He assists with the maintenance, distribution, and inventory of equipment and apparel for Duke football.
Prior to Duke, Gwinn held the position of Head Equipment Manager at North Carolina Central University since August 2013. At NCCU, he managed the ordering and design of new uniforms, practice gear and other athletic equipment for over 150 student-athletes and staff. He was also responsible for maintaining inventory, overseeing equipment and facility cleanliness, and setting up player workout operations, including invitational off-season camps.
Gwinn began his career in 2009 at NCCU as an Assistant Equipment Manager and Video Recorder. He was instrumental in maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment, managing player workouts, videotaping practices and games, and setting up film viewings.
Gwinn also completed an internship with the Carolina Panthers in 2021. His responsibilities included fitting athletes for uniforms, managing supplies for travel, maintaining facility organization and conducting equipment maintenance and repairs.
Gwinn earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Facilities Management from NCCU.
