Jaz Johnson joined Duke Athletics in March of 2022 and currently serves as Executive Assistant to the Vice President and Director of Athletics. Her responsibilities include managing the Director of Athletics' travel arrangements, electronic communications and traditional correspondence. She also supports various committees, projects and speaking engagements related to the Vice President and Director of Athletics' role. In addition, Johnson serves as a liaison with entities such as the ACC, NCAA and other organizations connected to the Director of Athletics.
Previously within Duke Athletics, Johnson held the position of Director of On-Campus Football Recruiting. Her role encompassed managing on-campus events for football prospective student-athletes and their guests.
Before joining Duke, Johnson worked as the Director of Community Engagement for Special Olympics Florida, focusing on outreach programs and fundraising for the South Florida region. She also held the position of Manager of Partnerships & Marketing for the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee during the NFL's Centennial season.
A Miami native, Johnson earned a master's degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Her career path, from Coordinator of On-Campus Football Recruiting at the University of Notre Dame to her current role at Duke, showcases her commitment to the sports industry through operational excellence and strategic partnerships.
