Ludovic Walter Posts First Round Win At NCAA Championships

Duke's Ludovic Walter, seeded fifth in the NCAA singles championship, picked up a first round win over Callum Beale of Texas in straight sets on Wednesday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.

Walter defeated Beale, 6-2, 6-4, to advance into Thursday's second round where he will meet Boise State's Luke Shields, a 6-4, 7-5 winner over G.D. Jones of Illinois. With Wednesday's victory, Walter improved his overall singles record to 25-9 this year and his career mark to 95-28.

Duke men's tennis hosted Stanford for its outdoor ACC opener inside Ambler Tennis Stadium.
