Durham, N.C. ? The Duke men's tennis team will host its Third Annual Duke Tennis Alumni Match on Saturday when they welcome back 13 former players.
The Blue Devils' current roster of 11 players will go head-to-head with the 13 former players in a mini dual match following breakfast at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The current players will team up to square off against the former players in five doubles and six singles contests. There will be one set played in all doubles and singles contests. The 2007-08 Duke team currently has a 2-0 record against the alumni.
Following the mini dual match, the alumni will have a 1-point tournament. Current Blue Devil Associate Head Coach Ramsey Smith is the defending champion. Ramin Pegan won the first title in 2005. During the matches Duke will have a DJ providing music on the court.
The day will conclude with a dinner Saturday night. The 13 players returning to Durham include, two-time All-American Joey Atas (2006-07), 2001 All-ACC player Marko Cerenko (1998-2001), Duke Sports Hall of Fame member Marc Flur (1980-83), 1990 All-American Geoff Grant (1989-95), Porter Jones (1997-2000), Joe Meir (1979-81), 1995 ACC Tournament MVP Philippe Moggio (1992-95), Rob Principe (1993-95), 1991 ACC Player of the Year Jason Rubell (1988-91), Ted Rueger (1998-2001), two-time All-American Ramsey Smith (1998-2001), 2006 All-American Jonathan Stokke (2003-06) and two-time All-American Michael Yani (2000-03).
