Durham, N.C. ? The Duke men's tennis team competed in the NCAA Tournament for the 17th consecutive season in 2008 and earned a national ranking of No. 39 in the final ITA team rankings.
The Blue Devils compiled an 11-14 overall record, including a 6-5 mark in the ACC. After defeating No. 23 Arizona State, 4-2, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Duke was eliminated in the second round with a 4-2 loss to No. 12 North Carolina. The Blue Devils received a final regional ranking of No. 8. 
Two singles players were ranked in the final ITA singles rankings. Senior 
David Goulet ended his career with an 81-50 career singles record and was ranked No. 61 to end the year. He was also ranked No. 10 in the Mideast region. He played at the No. 1 singles position for the second half of the season and tallied an overall singles record of 18-12. He was 7-4 in the ACC and qualified to compete in the NCAA Singles Championships where he lost in the first round. Freshman 
Reid Carleton was ranked No. 72 in the final rankings. He led the team in victories with a 27-9 overall record and 8-3 mark in conference play. Carleton was listed as the No. 12 player in the Mideast region. 
Goulet and his doubles partner 
Christopher Price finished the year ranked No. 36 in the ITA doubles rankings. The Duke duo teamed up for a 17-16 record in doubles, including a 12-13 ledger at the No. 1 spot in the order and 6-5 conference record. In the mideast region, Goulet and Price were ranked as the No. 8 doubles team.
