DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis team and head coach Ramsey Smith announced the squad's spring schedule on Thursday. The slate is highlighted by 14 home dates, in addition to the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C., and a trip to Hawai'i.
The Blue Devils will open the spring campaign with a trip to Honolulu, Hawai'i, for the Rainbow Warrior Classic from Jan. 7-10.
Following the stay in Hawai'i, the team returns home to host Michigan State on Friday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. ET. Duke then travels to Lexington, Ky., to face Kentucky at noon on Monday, Jan. 19 before starting a homestand for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend Jan. 23-24. The Blue Devils, who are one of 15 host sites for the annual ITA event, will be joined by Wake Forest, Clemson and Memphis in Durham. The winning team advances to the ITA Team Indoors Feb. 13-16 in Chicago.
Duke will get ready for the ITA Team Indoors with a weekend trip to the Chicago area, playing at Illinois at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 and Northwestern at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1. Duke will then host one more weekend before the ITA main event, welcoming Tennessee for a 6 p.m. match on Friday, Feb. 6 and Michigan and North Carolina Central on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Following the ITA Team Indoors event, Duke hosts Coastal Carolina and UNC Charlotte on Saturday, Feb. 28.
The Blue Devils then have over a week off before opening ACC play at Virginia Tech at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 8. The following Sunday, March 15, Duke hosts Miami at noon before bringing to Durham in-state rivals N.C. State on Friday, March 20 and Wake Forest on Sunday, March 22 for 3 p.m. matches.
Continuing ACC action, Duke travels to Clemson on Friday, March 27 and reigning ACC regular season and tournament champion Virginia on Sunday, March 29. For its next-to-last home weekend, Duke hosts Notre Dame on Friday, April 3 and Boston College on Saturday, April 4 for 3 p.m. contests.
Duke will go to rival North Carolina on Friday, April 10 and host Florida State at noon on Sunday, April 12. The Blue Devils finish the regular season traveling to Louisville on Friday, April 17 and Georgia Tech on Sunday, April 19.
The ACC Championship will take place at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C., from April 23-26.
The 2015 NCAA Championships will begin with regional action May 8-9. Baylor University will serve as the host site for the Round of 16 through the championship, which is scheduled for May 19. Waco, Texas, is also the site for the NCAA Individual Championships, which run from May 20-25.
