CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Duke men's golf team returns to competition at The Bryson Invitational, set for Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 13-15, at Daniel Island Golf Club's Ralston Creek course in Charleston, S.C.
The 15-team field features three programs ranked in the top 25 of the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll - No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 12 BYU and No. 21 Wake Forest - along with six others receiving votes. Other competing teams include Liberty, Houston, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Charleston, South Carolina, Seton Hall, Charlotte, TCU, Wofford and Kansas.
Duke's lineup will consist of junior
Bryan Kim, senior
Ethan Evans, senior
William Love, sophomore
Sam Mukherjee and sophomore
John Hiller, with sophomore
Ollie Mukherjee and senior
Daniel Choi competing as individuals.
Kim enters the event in top form, leading the Blue Devils with a 69.22 scoring average. In his last outing, he tied a program record with a 54-hole total of 197 (-16) to claim medalist honors at the Bryan Bros Collegiate on Sept. 28-29. Kim has placed inside the top 20 in all three events this fall, including two top-five finishes, and leads Duke with three eagles and 36 birdies - a mark he shares with Love.
Evans and Love have also been steady contributors, each recording two top-20 finishes this fall. Evans tops the team with 110 pars and owns a 71.22 scoring average, while Love averages 71.89.
The Bryson Invitational will feature three rounds of 18 holes, with one round played each day.
