QUICK HITS
- Duke enters play on Friday on a four-game winning streak, claiming their first ACC series against another of the league's newcomers, California. Over that stretch, the Blue Devils have allowed 2.75 runs per game while scoring 6.25 runs per game. This weekend against Stanford will mark the first between the two programs and is the first opportunity for the Blue Devils to secure ranked road victories.
- The Blue Devils continue a trend of scoring throughout the middle innings of games once again this season, scoring 54 of their 144 (37.5%) runs from the fourth to the sixth innings.
- In his last 10 games, Ben Miller has been seeing the ball well. The Durham, N.C., native has scored 10 runs and collected 14 hits, half of which were home runs (7). During that stretch, Miller has driven in 18 RBI, posting a slugging percentage of .946 and an on-base percentage of .455. In his second season with Duke, Miller added his 10th home run of the season against George Mason Wednesday, pushing his career tally at Duke to 25. He is now six home runs away from cracking Duke's single-season top 10 list. As the season moves along, Miller is on pace to become the 14th Blue Devil in program history to finish their career with a .300 average or better and 20 or more home runs.
- The 2025 Duke squad is steadier at the plate, drawing 132 walks so far this season. That mark is fifth in the country, trailing VMI (172), Georgia State (141), Tennessee (140), and Georgia (136). The 132 walks are also the most in the ACC. The Blue Devils are averaging 7.33 walks per game this season.
- The cross-country trip to Stanford, Calif., is not only special for the Cardinal as they host their first ACC contest at home, but also special for Duke. This weekend marks the first meeting between the two historic programs and is the third longest (longest conference trip) in program history as Duke played in the King Dome in 1990 against Washington and Notre Dame, and faced off against California in 2015.
