DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke fencing team is set for the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championship March 20-23 at the Multi-Sport Facility in University Park, Pa.
Duke will be represented by freshman Joseph Glasson (men's foil), sophomore Charlotte Koenig (women's foil), junior Rachel Koo (women's foil) and sophomore Dayaal Singh (men's foil).Â
The men's competition will begin Thursday at 9 a.m. and conclude Friday with the semifinal and championship bouts starting at 1:30 p.m. For Glasson and Singh, men's foil will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday. The women will compete Saturday at 9 a.m. and wrap up Sunday with the semifinal and championship bouts starting at 1:30 p.m. Koenig and Koo will start at 11 a.m. with foil on Saturday.
The championship will include individual events in each of the six weapons (men's epee, men's foil, men's saber, women's epee, women's foil and women's saber). Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After the round-robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with the winners fencing to determine first and second places, and the non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
An institution's place finish in the championships will be based on points earned by each individual. A team will be awarded one point for each victory by its student-athletes for the duration of the championship.
