SETTING THE SCENE
• After a weekend off, the Duke wrestling team (6-9, 0-2 ACC) returns to Cameron Indoor Stadium this week as the Blue Devils host Virginia (8-6, 0-3) Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.

THE SERIES WITH VIRGINIA
• Duke and Virginia will meet for the 74th time in program history with the Cavaliers leading the series with a 64-7-2 ledger. The series dates back to 1929.
• The last time Duke defeated Virginia was on Feb. 3, 2018 with a 19-16 victory in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Cavaliers have won 18 out of the last 19 matches in the series.

Connor Barket is currently listed in four different rankings -- FloWrestling (#24), Intermat (#23), The Open Mat (#20) and WrestleStat (#26).

Aidan Wallace is also ranked in three different polls -- Intermat (#23), WrestleStat (#28) and FloWrestling (#24).
• Wallace (22-2) and Barket (16-3) have combined for a 38-5 start to the 2025-26 campaign.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Duke wrestling team dropped an ACC contest with 15th-ranked Pittsburgh Jan. 18 inside Card Gymnasium. The Panthers totaled a 40-0 victory to move to 9-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils dropped to 6-9, 0-2.
• In his first match against a ranked opponent as a Blue Devil, redshirt freshman
Dylan Ross faced 23rd-ranked Kade Brown of Pitt at 149 pounds. The duo went through a scoreless first period and then Ross registered key riding time seconds to start off the second period. Brown was able to collect a reversal to take a 2-0 lead and then Ross posted an escape to get on the board, 2-1. Ross, who is from Edgewater, New Jersey, notched an escape to open the third to even the ledger, 2-2.Brown took a 5-2 lead with a takedown in the third and ended with a 5-3 decision to take the victory over Ross.

Aurelius Dunbar had a solid match against Jared Keslar of Pitt at 165 pounds. Keslar registered a late takedown in the first period and then added an escape in the second. Dunbar, who is from Greencastle, Pennsylvania, got on the board with an escape to start the third to cut into the lead, 4-1, and dropped a 4-1 decision to Keslar.
• At 174 pounds, the fans were treated to a ranked matchup featuring Duke's 20th-ranked
Aidan Wallace versus Pitt's 23rd-ranked Luca Augustine. The duo finished the first period scoreless. Wallace, who is from Mahwah, New Jersey, opened the second period with an escape to take a 1-0 lead. Augustine came back to notch a takedown to go ahead, 3-1, in the second and ended with a 3-1 decision.
• Another ranked matchup closed the action with Duke's 20th-ranked
Connor Barket versus 15th-ranked Dayton Pitzer. Pitzer opened with a takedown in the first period and led 3-1 early. Barket, who hails from West Lafayette, Indiana, trailed 4-1 late in the third, before Barket registered a takedown to go ahead 5-4 with nine seconds remaining. Pitzer evened the match with a riding time point sending the contest into overtime. Barket and Pitzer both had chances early before Pitzer collected a takedown 55 seconds into overtime for the win.
ROSS & BOULANGER PERFORMING WELL
• Redshirt freshman
Dylan Ross has come on strong recently winning six out of his last nine matches. He owns a 12-8 ledger on the season and is 1-1 in ACC action at 149 pounds.
• True freshman
Mikey Boulanger returned to action against Pitt, after missing six bouts with an injury. Boulander has totaled an 8-6 record and made his ACC debut against the Panthers.
WALLACE NOTCHES MILESTONE
• With his six wins at the Southern Scuffle, redshirt junior
Aidan Wallace reached 20 victories on the season. He has now collected 20+ wins at the 164-pound weight class and the 174-pound class over the last two seasons.
• Wallace became the 14th Blue Devil to notch back-to-back 20+ win seasons -- Matt Finesilver, Frank Cornely, Levi Craig, Voris Tejada, John Barone, Diego Bencomo, Jacob Kasper, Conner Hartmann, Mike Mitchell, Immanuel Kerr-Brown, Josh Finesilver, Marcus Cain and Tommy Hoang.
• Wallace has become just the fourth Blue Devil to collect 20+ wins in multiple weight classes -- Frank Cornely (174, 184), Voris Tejada (157 and 174), John Barone (174/184 & 184/197) and Josh Finesilver (133 and 141).
DUKE REACHES SIX WINS
• Duke has opened the season with a 6-9 ledger. It marks the most victories by the Blue Devils since the 2021-22 campaign when Duke totaled a 7-10 ledger.
• Over the last 10 years, Duke has reached five or more wins only three times -- 2025-26, 2021-22 and 2017-18.

• Of Duke's 246 points scored on the season, 92 have come from the 174 and Heavyweight divisions.
