CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Duke men's soccer forward
Jack Ottley has been named the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week following his five-point week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The freshman played all but four minutes in Duke's two victories last week, as the Blue Devils defeated Greensboro College, 2-0, and earned a conference victory over Virginia, 3-0. A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ottley's opening goal against the Pride turned into his third game-winning goal of the season. Against the Cavaliers, Ottley assisted on the first Duke goal of the night, setting up
Sol Arbib, and then scored late in the first half to put Duke in front by multiple goals. Ottley leads the Blue Devils in all three major offensive categories with seven goals, six assists and 20 total points. Across the ACC, Ottley ranks third overall in total points and leads all league freshmen in the category.
Ottley earns the first ACC Player of the Week recognition of his career and is the first Blue Devil to garner a weekly recognition from the ACC this season. He shared this week's ACC Offensive Player of the Week award with Aidan Payne of NC State.
The Blue Devils return to action on Friday night, hosting North Carolina on Duke's Senior Night. The Blue Devils and Tar Heels are scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff at Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium, with the match broadcast on ACC Network.
