CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After turning in a steady performance during a 2-0 weekend for the Blue Devils,
Madison Beach was selected as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Beach posted four points during the Blue Devils' fourth weekend sweep of the season, which featured victories over then-No. 9 Syracuse and Saint Joseph's. The two wins pushed Duke's winning streak to seven games and kept them atop the ACC standings at 9-2 overall and 4-0 in league action.
In the 2-0 victory over the Orange, Beach became the 12th different Blue Devil to find the back of the net this as she scored her first goal of the season and first career game winner. In Duke's come-from-behind overtime triumph against the Hawks, the Northbrook, Illinois, native dished out two assists, including the dime on
Alaina McVeigh's golden goal.
Beach is the fourth Blue Devil player in the last three weeks to garner weekly recognition, joining
Julia Boehringer (ACC Offensive POTW),
Kaiya Chepow (NFHCA Defensive and ACC Co-Defensive POTW) and
Philine Klas (ACC Co-Defensive POTW).
No. 3 Duke hits the road for its next four games, starting with a West Coast trip to the Golden State. The Blue Devils will take on Stanford (Oct. 9) and No. 14 California (Oct. 11), with both tilts streamed live on ACCNX.
