DURHAM, N.C. – Duke volleyball is back on the road this weekend for a pair of ACC matches, traveling to Virginia on Friday night at 6 p.m., and Virginia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will stream on ACCNX.
Duke (10-4, 2-2 ACC) is coming off a split weekend at home, as it fell 3-1 to Georgia Tech and swept Clemson. The Blue Devils sit in the middle of the conference standings through two weekends of play.

The First Serve
Nataly Moravec and
Ashby Zubchevich shined all weekend, as the duo tallied 60 combined kills – 30 each – in the seven sets.
In the Blue Devils' win over the Tigers on Sunday, Moravec led the offensive attack, posting a game-high 15 kills on .297 hitting. Zubchevich also added 13 kills on the other pin, while Zoe Gillen-Malveaux was incredibly effective on the slide, tallying 11 kills on .444 hitting. As a team, Duke hit .277 in the win. On defense, Duke completely silenced the Clemson offense, who hit .143. The victory marked the Blue Devils' second consecutive sweep of the Tigers.
On Friday against Georgia Tech, Duke claimed the opening set but dropped the next three in tight battles. In the loss, Zubchevich led all players with 17 kills on a .303 hitting clip. Outside of her, the Blue Devils struggled on offense as the team finished the night hitting .198.
Setter
Nikki Quinn was key to the offensive success Duke had this weekend, especially in Sunday's win. Quinn finished second in the conference in assists per set last week with 11.71. The Del Mar, California, native leads the ACC and ranks fourth nationally in assists per set with 11.10. She sits at 957 career assists.
Duke Notables
- Duke continues to lead the ACC in aces per set with 2.04. The Blue Devils average is 12th in the country. Ashby Zubchevich ranks second in the ACC with 0.58 aces per set.
- Moravec and Zubchevich have recorded double-digit kills in each of the last 11 matches. Over that stretch, the duo has combined for 367 kills (8.74 per set).
- Through 14 matches the Blue Devils are hitting .281, which ranks 18th in the country. Last season, Duke ranked 285th nationally in hitting at .172.
- After a slow opening weekend, Moravec has been on fire since, as she has recorded double-digits kills in each of the last 11 matches. Over that stretch, she has tallied 199 kills.
- Moravec's kills per set average is 20th in the country, while her points per set average is 22nd nationally.

Scouting Virginia
- Virginia is coming off a 0-2 weekend in Northern California, as it fell 3-1 to Cal last Friday before being swept by No. 13 Stanford on Saturday.
- In the opening weekend of ACC play, the Cavaliers picked up a 3-2 road win over Clemson and fell to Georgia Tech, 3-0.
- In the preseason ACC coaches' poll, Virginia was picked to finish 11th, receiving 119 points. Last season, the Cavaliers finished with a 13-17 (6-14 ACC) record.
