DURHAM, N.C. – With the regular season now in the rearview, Duke swimming and diving shifts its attention to postseason competition, starting with the ACC Championships this weekend. The conference meet will take place Feb. 15-21 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
All six days of competition will be streamed live on ACCNX.
DUKE NOTABLES:
- In the latest CSCAA Top 25, the Duke women check in at No. 20.
- The Blue Devil women finished the regular season with a 6-2 record in dual meet action, while the men posted a 3-5 mark.
- On the women's side, Duke was led by senior Kaelyn Gridley (868.50 points), junior Ali Pfaff (854.40 points) and senior Tatum Wall (818.20 points). Gridley posted 12 first-place finishes during the year, while Pfaff earned 11 and Wall seven.
- Junior Kalen Anbar (802.45 points) and freshmen Anderson Kopp (790.95 points) and Charlie Kulp (790.95 points) spearheaded the efforts for the Blue Devil men during the year. Kulp led the way with three wins and totaled nine podium finishes overall. Anbar (two wins; 12 podium finishes) and Kopp (one win; 10 podium finishes) rounded out the trio.
- Sophomore diver Keira Lu was tabbed ACC Women's Diver of the Week five times. Lu posted 12 first-place finishes during the regular season. She currently ranks No. 4 all-time in Duke lore in the women's 3-meter dive (362.55) and No. 5 in the 1-meter dive (323.73).
- Duke enters the ACC Championships with eight divers currently qualified for the NCAA Diving Zones (Zone B).
- The women's group of qualifiers includes freshman Avery Hillier, Lu, junior Avari Wang and senior Josie Zillig. Duke's qualifiers on the men's side feature junior Charles Berman, senior Evan Brown, sophomore Tynan O'Donaghue and senior Yannis Schattman.
- At the Wolfpack Elite Invitational earlier this season, Pfaff turned in a first-place performance in the women's 200-yard freestyle. The junior clocked the fastest time of her collegiate career (1:44.24) to win the event and move up to No. 2 all-time in Duke history.
- She also had an incredible performance in the women's 100-yard backstroke en route to cementing herself atop the Duke charts. Behind a personal best of 51.06, Pfaff unseated the four-year-old program record while finishing runner-up.
