Â
THANK YOU SENIORS
Prior to Saturday's match, Duke will recognizeÂ
Gerard Planelles Ripoll,
Teddy Truwit and
Pedro Rodenas for their contributions to the Blue Devils during their careers.Â
Since Truwit and Rodenas came to Duke as freshmen, the Blue Devils have made two NCAA Super Regional appearances, three NCAA Tournament trips and notched 71 overall victories.
Planelles Ripoll, who hails from Alicante, Spain, began his career at Arkansas before spending his final two seasons as a Blue Devil. The Academic All-District selection has been a mainstay in the Duke doubles lineup, highlighted by a 7-0 ACC doubles record in 2025. He ended last spring on a 17-match unbeaten streak in doubles, including a win against Stanford's 53rd-ranked pair in the ACC Championship semifinals. This spring, he has been a fixture on court three in singles and has blown past his dual match win total from a year ago.Â
Â
Truwit, from Darien, Connecticut, is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection and a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member. A prominent member of the doubles lineup since his arrival on campus, he has earned more than 25 dual match victories in his career. Truwit has saved his most impactful season for last, already earning career highs for dual match singles and doubles victories. His doubles performances have helped the Blue Devils clinch doubles points against No. 11 Texas A&M, Illinois and No. 12 Stanford. In Duke's ACC match versus No. 1 Virginia last month, Truwit claimed a straight-set singles win on court six.Â
Â
Rodenas, of Madrid, Spain, will find his name peppered throughout the Duke record books when his last volley is played. A singles and doubles All-America as well as the ACC Freshman of the Year, Rodenas has also excelled off the court as a three-time All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree. Rodenas heads into Saturday's contest having played 39 ACC doubles matches, tied for the fifth most in Duke history, while his 28 league doubles wins are tied for third in Duke history. He has also taken part in 43 singles matches, tied for the third most in Duke history. He owns 32 ACC singles victories, tied for the third most in a Duke career.Â

HISTORY WITH NORTH CAROLINAÂ Â
The Blue Devils will face the Tar Heels for the 142nd time in series history. North Carolina leads the all-time series 95-46. After a nine-match losing streak from 2014-21, Duke has rebounded with five consecutive victories. In the last two meetings, the Blue Devils have not surrendered a point in 4-0 wins at the 2024 ACC Championship and the 2025 regular season clash in Chapel Hill.
In the 2023 regular season match in Chapel Hill, Truwit was part of a 6-1 doubles victory while Rodenas won his singles match in straight sets as the Blue Devils prevailed, 5-2. The 2024 contests had Rodenas go a combined 2-0 in doubles action and 2-0 in singles, winning both in straight sets.
Alexander Visser also participated in both matches in singles, falling in the regular season before bouncing back for a straight-set victory in the ACC tournament. Rodenas also claimed doubles and singles wins in 2025 while Williams earned a singles victory and Planelles Ripoll tallied a 7-5 doubles victory to secure the doubles point.Â
Â
