Tulsa, Okla. - Jonathan Stokke was eliminated from the consolation round at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships on Saturday with a loss in straight sets.
Stokke made it to the quarterfinal round in the consolation bracket before dropping a decision to Alex Slovic of Washington. Slovic came away with a narrow victory in the first set 7-6 (6) and then closed out the match with a 6-3 win in the second set. He went on to defeat Florida State's Sam Chang in straight sets to advance to the finals. In the finals, he suffered a loss in straight sets to Todd Paul of Wake Forest.
Georgia's John Isner won the singles championship with a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) win over Baylor's Lars Poerschke. The doubles championship went to Andreas Siljestrom and Marco Born of Middle Tennessee State. They defeated North Carolina's Raian Luchici and Brad Pomeroy for the title.
The tournament was held in Tulsa, Okla. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. It is the first of three national singles events. The ITA National Indoors will be held November 3-6 and the NCAA Championships will take place in Stanford, Calif. on May 20-29.
