Duke & Pepperdine To Meet In NCAA Men's Tennis Round Of 16

The ninth-seeded Duke men's tennis team will square off versus eighth-seeded Pepperdine in Round of 16 action at the 2005 NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 6 p.m. (CT) at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
The Blue Devils advanced out of regional play last weekend in Durham with victories over South Carolina State and Virginia Commonwealth, pushing their overall record to 20-5. Duke has now reached the 20-win plateau in 13 of head coach Jay Lapidus' 15 campaigns in Durham. The Blue Devils have now reached the Round of 16 in 10 of the past 11 years and own an all-time NCAA Tournament ledger of 29-14.
Pepperdine enters the weekend at 23-2 after last weekend's wins over UC Irvine and Stanford.
The Duke-Pepperdine winner will play the winner between 16th-seeded Texas A&M and top-seeded and defending national champion Baylor.
