DURHAM, N.C. - Duke's Ambler Stadium, the home of the Duke men's and women's tennis teams, saw renovations last week as the stadium courts were re-surfaced and painted blue. Both teams have been practicing on the new-look courts this week, as each prepare for major fall indoor tournaments.
Before the men's team heads to the ITA All-American Championships (Oct. 5-8), juniors Alex Stone and Ned Samuelson will be competing at the UNC Fall Invitational this weekend, hosted by the University of North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The tournament includes players from 17 schools, and the brackets will include six singles flights and three doubles flights. Presented by One-A-Day Vitamins, the invitational will run from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. Draws will be available at www.TarHeelBlue.com.
Members of the women's tennis team will be in action this weekend at the Riviera ITA/All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. A preview of the tournament, along with a practice photo gallery featuring the new Ambler courts, will be available on GoDuke.com on Friday.
