Durham, N.C. ? The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2008 All-Academic team on Thursday with Duke placing a league-high four players on the list.
Junior Kiril Dimitrov was the only three-time recipient of the honor of the 22 selected to the list. Dimitrov compiled a 16-17 record in singles and 14-15 doubles mark on the season. He has a 3.847 GPA and is majoring in economics.
Senior David Goulet and sophomore Dylan Arnould were also repeat honorees after being named to the All-ACC Academic team last season. Goulet played in the top spot of the order for the Blue Devils in 2008 and recorded an 18-12 record in singles and 17-17 doubles ledger. He was also an All-ACC selection after going 7-4 in conference singles matches. He has a 3.575 GPA and earned his degree in economics. Arnould went 18-15 in singles in his second season and tallied a 12-17 record in doubles. He has a 3.537 GPA and is majoring in political science.
Senior Alex Stone was named to the All-Academic team for the first time in his career. He posted a 10-21 singles record in his final season and was 13-18 in doubles. He had a 3.681 GPA and graduated with a degree in political science.
In the first three seasons of the ACC All-Academic team, Duke has had 15 named to the list, the most of any ACC school. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
