Duke Heads to Lakewood Ranch Clay Court Classic

DURHAM, N.C. - Four Blue Devils will travel to Bradenton, Fla., Friday to take part in the 2011 Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club. The clay court tournament will run from Nov. 11-13 and will feature some of the top college teams in the nation in one of the final events of the fall season.

Senior Luke Marchese, sophomore Fred Saba and freshmen Raphael Hemmeler and Jason Tahir will be among those competing at the three-day tournament. All four players are coming off of last month's ITA Carolina Regional, where Saba was one of four Blue Devils to advance to the quarterfinal round in singles play. Marchese owns a record of 5-3 in fall singles action, while rookies Tahir and Hemmeler have posted ledgers of 4-3 and 2-4, respectively.
