DURHAM – The Duke wrestling program (2-1, 0-0 ACC) is back in action this weekend, opening a four-match road swing on the east coast.

The weekend begins with duals against Drexel (1-2, 0-0 EIWA) and Maryland (0-2, 0-0 Big Ten) on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in College Park, Md. The Blue Devils will make the short trek down to Washington, D.C., for duals against Hofstra (0-2, 0-0 EIWA) and American (0-3, 0-0 EIWA) on Sunday at 10 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.

The Blue Devils' dual against Maryland will be broadcast on Big Ten Network Plus, while the dual against American will be shown on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Devils opened the dual season with two wins at the Boilermaker Duals in West Lafayette, Ind. Duke opened the slate with a 35-10 win over Bellarmine and followed it up with a 25-17 win over Northern Illinois, before dropping a 28-15 decision to No. 20 Purdue.

The Blue Devils were paced by huge days from redshirt senior brothers
Josh Finesilver and
Matt Finesilver, as well as junior
Jonah Niesenbaum, all of whom went 3-0 on the day. The Blue Devils won seven matches by fall, with redshirt senior
Kaden Russell recording two.

Russell and Niesenbaum proved to be critical in the Northern Illinois dual, with Duke facing a 17-16 deficit entering their matchups. Russell defeated Tristan Guaman by fall, just 2:24 into the match and Niesenbaum sealed the victory with a 3-2 decision over Terrese Aaron.

OPPONENT HISTORY
	- The Blue Devils will open the weekend slate against Drexel. Duke trails 1-4 in the all-time series, but won the last meeting, 24-13 on Jan. 31, 2015.

	- Duke will face off against longtime former ACC foe Maryland for the 71st time, but first since Dec. 21, 2014. Duke trails 10-59-1, but also won the last meeting, 24-9.

	- For just the second time, the Blue Devils will meet Hofstra in a dual match. Duke won the only previous meeting, taking the match 31-10 on Jan. 8, 2017.

	- Duke and American will link up in the final dual match of the weekend. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 7-4 over the Eagles.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
	- Both Finesilver brothers carry national rankings via InterMat, with Matt maintaining his mark at No. 7 in the nation at 174 pounds, while Josh has risen to No. 11 in the 149-pound weight class.

	- Matt Finesilver extended his season-opening unbeaten streak to 10-0, downing two ranked opponents in Northern Illinois's No. 28 Mason Kauffman (Dec., 4-0) and Purdue's No. 20 Gerrit Nijenhuis (Fall, 3:47).

	- Josh Finesilver earned his 60th collegiate victory against Purdue, while Matt needs just one more win to reach the threshold. Matt needs just two more dual match wins for 25 in his career (23-2 overall record).

	- Duke is finding success at higher weights this season, with anticipated starters at 174 pounds or higher recording nine wins by fall and as a whole recording a 20-11 record. Junior Jonah Niesenbaum is leading the resurgence with four wins by fall.

	- The Blue Devils are amid a seven-game road dual swing, covering two states and Washington, D.C., before the home opener on Dec. 19.
