CARY, N.C. – Garrett Johns and
Sean Sculley of Duke men's tennis competed at the ATP Cary Challenger on Tuesday, but fell in their opening matches.
Johns battled Aleksander Kovacevic in his opening singles match, but ultimately fell 7-6 (3), 6-4.
Johns and Sculley then took on JC Aragone and Nicolas Barrientos in their opening doubles match and again had a solid showing before dropping a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 decision.
The entire Blue Devil team will kick off their fall slate on Friday at the Duke Bonk Invitational in Cary, N.C. That event will run through Sunday.
