DURHAM, N.C. - The No. 17 Duke men's tennis team will face No. 46 Middle Tennessee State in the first round of the NCAA Championship May 3 at 10 a.m. at Barksdale Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Blue Devils earned a bid to the Knoxville Regional, with 14th-seeded Tennessee serving as the host. In the other regional matchup, the Volunteers will face Alabama State May 3 at 1 p.m.
The winners of the two opening-round matches will meet in the second round May 4 at 1 p.m. The second-round winner will advance to super regional play, scheduled for May 9-11. The final rounds of the tournament will be held at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, from May 16-18.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Blue Devils are heading to the NCAA Championship for their fifth consecutive year and the 32nd time in program history.
Duke owns an all-time NCAA Championship record of 52-31 and has advanced as far as the quarterfinals, reaching the round of eight in 1993, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2012 and 2013. When competing on the road, Duke boasts a 14-7 record in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
HOT STREAK
Sophomore
Cooper Williams, who's ranked No. 47 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), is playing some of his best tennis this season. He is riding a seven-match win streak while competing at the second position in the Blue Devils' lineup.
This dual match season, Williams has downed 58th-ranked Noa Vukadin in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) from No. 24 Clemson and 40th-ranked Jamie Connell in two sets (6-4, 6-4) from No. 37 Florida State. In the ACC Championship, he earned a two-set triumph over No. 5 NC State's 30th-ranked Martin Borisiouk (7-6 (2), 6-3).
Junior
Pedro Rodenas, ranked No. 25, has won four of his last six matches while competing at the top position for Duke. In that six-match stretch, he has defeated 11th-ranked Carl Emil Overbeck in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-3) from No. 10 California and 19th-ranked Sebastian Dominko from No. 65 Notre Dame in straight sets (6-4, 6-4). Last time out, Rodenas earned his highest-ranked win of the season, as he edged ninth-ranked Samir Banerjee from No. 8 Stanford in the ACC Championship (6-2, 6-2).
The Blue Devils are playing some of their best doubles tennis of the season, with all three pairings going undefeated over the last four matches, including a perfect doubles stretch during the ACC Championship.
At the first spot, the seventh-ranked duo of Williams and graduate
Theo Winegar is riding a four-match win streak. In the four-match stretch, the two have defeated the 21st-ranked duo of Sebastian Dominko and Chase Thompson from No. 65 Notre Dame (6-4) and earned a triumph over the No. 6 pairing of Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambeek from No. 5 NC State (6-4).

Andreja Petrovic have been dominant for Duke. In the ACC Championship, the Blue Devils duo earned an upset over 17th-ranked Luca Staeheli and Jules Leroux from No. 5 NC State (6-2).

Remy Dugardin is riding an eight-match win streak. The powerhouse duo has only dropped one match during the dual season. In the ACC Championship, Planelles Ripoll and Dugardin posted a 6-3 win over 53rd-ranked Alex Razeghi and Banerjee from No. 8 Stanford.
SCOUTING MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE
The Blue Devils are facing Middle Tennessee State for the sixth time in program history, with Duke holding a 4-1 advantage. The teams last met during the 2024 season, when Duke earned a 4-0 victory to capture the Durham ITA Kickoff Weekend title.
The Blue Raiders own a 16-11 overall mark this season and are coming off their sixth consecutive CUSA title. In doubles play, Middle Tennessee boasts No. 63 Ondrej Horak and Karim Al-amin, who have won five out of their last six matches.
