DURHAM, N.C. – Three former Duke women's soccer standouts –
Michelle Cooper,
Carina Lageyre and
Kat Rader – have received U.S. Soccer calls for October trainings with the U.S. full national team and the U.S. U-23 national team.Â

Cooper received another call from the United States Women's National Team to compete in the upcoming October FIFA international window. U.S. Soccer announced its roster recently for a training camp and a pair of high-profile friendlies against top-ranked Spain, the reigning FIFA Women's World Cup champion.

The USWNT – the defending Olympic champion – will first face Spain on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2:30 p.m. ET at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. ET at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. The first match will be broadcast on TBS, with the second on TNT. Both games will be available on HBO Max, as well as on Universo and Peacock in Spanish.

Entering this international break, Cooper owns 14 caps, seven starts, one goal and two assists with the Stars and Stripes. The USA currently sits second in the FIFA Women's World Rankings, with Spain in first.

Cooper, the 2022 Hermann Trophy recipient at Duke, is currently in her fifth season with the Kansas City Current of the NWSL. She has totaled 16 career goals and 12 assists over her professional career.Â

Both Lageyre and Rader received the U.S. U-23 invitation for a training camp running Oct. 5-13 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Georgia.Â

The U.S. U-23 squad will train alongside Emma Hayes' senior team for the week, which includes Cooper.Â

At the end of the camp, the U-23 team will play two full international matches, taking on the Dominican Republic U-23 squad on Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m. ET and Oct. 13 at noon ET. Both games will be on Field 3 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center.

Lageyre is currently competing with Angel City FC of the NWSL and has started 18 consecutive matches, while notching two assists and logging 1,612 minutes.Â

The leading candidate for the 2026 NWSL Rookie of the Year, Rader has started 25-of-26 matches and leads all rookies with 10 goals. She has added one assist while seeing action in 2,173 minutes.Â
