DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke women's soccer standouts Kayla (McCoy) McKenna and Toni Payne have received national team calls for October friendlies and will represent Jamaica and Nigeria, respectively.Â
Â
McKenna was one of 23 players called to represent the Reggae Girlz of Jamaica. The squad will face Mexico Oct. 9 at Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes and then Oct. 13 at Estadio Corregidora in Querétaro. Both matches will start at 4 p.m. ET in Mexico.Â
Â
Nigeria called 28 players into camp, which will include a pair of matches against Comoros. The two teams will meet Oct. 9 and Oct. 13 with both matches being played at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, Nigeria.
Â
McKenna and Payne were Duke teammates 2015 and 2016, guiding the Blue Devils to the 2015 NCAA College Cup. Currently playing for Grasshopper Club Zurich in Switzerland, McKenna was a 2015-18 letterwinner at Duke. Payne recently signed with Inter Milan in Italy and is in her first season there. She played at Duke from 2013-16.Â
Â
Both Jamaica and Nigeria are in the process of 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifying.Â
