Big Sets for Little Hearts to Start Year Three in 2026-27

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men's and women's tennis are excited to begin year three of the Big Sets for Little Hearts program in 2026-27 as both programs open the fall season this weekend. The program benefits the Duke Children's Hospital Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center.
In the first two years of the Big Sets for Little Hearts program, the Blue Devils have raised $19,619.80 for the kids. The program is accepting donations for 2026-27 and fans can get involved by clicking here.Â
Big Sets for Little Hearts pledges are made based on the number of sets won by Duke's men's and women's tennis programs.
The men's team will open the 2026-27 season this weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia as the Blue Devils take part in the Orange & Blue Classic Sept. 11-13.Â

The women's program opens the year locally in Chapel Hill, competing in the Kitty Harrison Invitational at the Chewning Tennis Center Sept. 11-13.Â
If you are interested in supporting Blue Devil tennis' partnership with Duke Children's, you can pledge for each set won during the season or make a one-time donation. Pledges start at $0.10, $0.50, $1.00 and $2.50. Based on last year's results, the smallest pledged donation would be equal to $64.70. One-time donations are always welcome as well.Â
The Duke Children's Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center is the No. 3 ranked pediatric cardiology and heart surgery program in the United States for newborns and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. It is also No. 1 in the state of North Carolina for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center strives to improve its patients' outcomes and the quality of their lives.Â
To be able to accomplish this, the center achieves some of the highest survival rates in the U.S. among very sick patients who require advanced, complex care. The Heart Center performed more than 450 heart operations in 2024, including more-complex procedures when compared to other centers across the country. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center was the first to successfully perform several new approaches to pediatric heart transplant surgery, including donation after cardiac death transplantation, partial heart transplantation and combination heart and thymus transplantation. The center has pioneered new surgical techniques that lower risk and ensure heart surgery is better tolerated by the tiniest babies. Â
