Sean-Patrick Oswald is a 2011 graduate of Duke University and had previously been an 800 meter specialist with the Blue Devils from 2007-2011. He graduated as the owner of four school records (Indoor and Outdoor 3200m relay, Indoor Distance Medley Relay and Indoor 800m). After his competitive career at Duke, Sean-Patrick transitioned to longer distance events, having competed in over 20 marathons and 2 Ironmans.
Following graduation, Oswald coached at North Penn High School in Pennsylvania from 2011-2013, before returning to Durham in 2013. At that time, he joined the Duke track & field and cross country coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach with Coach Norm Ogilvie until 2016. Following a brief period living internationally in France, Oswald returned to the Duke staff as a volunteer in 2020 and has been working with the men’s and women’s distance programs ever since.
Oswald currently lives in Durham and enjoys running the trails of Duke Forest and Durham with his dog, Jett.
