Zach White serves as Assistant Director of Athletics/Iron Dukes Major Gifts, as well as functioning as a member of the Senior Administrative staff for Duke Athletics. In his current role, he oversees the daily operation of the Major Gifts department, leading a staff of nine, and is responsible for setting strategy and directing the implementation of fundraising efforts for the group. White has been responsible for initiating planning and strategy for major development efforts. Under White’s leadership, the Major Gifts department has nearly doubled the total dollars raised to Duke Athletics.

White partners with many of Duke’s most philanthropic, generous, and notable alumni, parents, and donors to make an impact on Duke Athletics. He has personally raised over $100 million to Duke University in his tenure.

Starting in 2022, White spearheaded the development of the Starting 11, a Football-specific donor group to focus on major gifts to Duke Football. The Starting 11 has been critical to the success of Duke Football – raising over $32 million to the program, targeted towards Football NIL, facilities, operations, and endowment.

In addition, White serves as the sport administrator for the Duke Men’s Tennis program.

A Duke alumni, White joined the Athletics department immediately after graduation and held numerous positions over the past 13 years. Prior to filling his current role, he was the Executive Director of Development/Iron Dukes, Senior Director of Development/Iron Dukes, Director of Iron Dukes Major Gifts, Associate Director of Iron Dukes Major Gifts, Assistant Director of Iron Dukes Major Gifts/Prospect Manager and the Assistant Director of Iron Dukes Annual Fund. In addition, White had filled the position of Executive Assistant to then Vice President/Director of Athletics, Dr. Kevin White, and also worked as the Marketing and Promotions Assistant.
A 2010 graduate of Duke University, White holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. He also completed his Master of Business Administration degree in 2015. As a senior at Duke, he held the distinction of serving as the Head Line Monitor for Krzyzewskiville, overseeing the undergraduate men's basketball fan experience and supervising a staff and all activities of the tent city throughout the 2009-10 National Championship season.
White resides near Duke’s campus with his wife, Rebecca, and their three children, daughter, Sydney Belle, and twins Ellie and Jack.
