Reid Carleton won his first match on Thursday but was eliminated in the round of 32 of the 2008 D'Novo Men's All-American Championships main draw at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Fresh off a tournament title at the UVA Ranked Plus One Invitational, Carleton started the ITA All-American main draw with a match against No. 36 Dean Jackson of San Diego. Carleton, who is ranked No. 39, cruised through the match with a victory in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. The win was Carleton's third over a ranked opponent this season.
With the first round win, Carleton advanced to the round of 32 where he faced the No. 13 seed in the tournament and 13th-ranked player nationally Jean-Yves Aubone of Florida State. Aubone showed why he is ranked in the top 15 by knocking off Carleton in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Carleton is now 9-2 on the year in singles action.
Carleton and the Blue Devils will next be in action at the ITA Mideast Regional in Durham Oct. 16-21.
