DURHAM, N.C. – With the regular season in the rearview, Duke cross country shifts its attention to the postseason, beginning with the ACC Cross Country Championships this weekend.
The conference meet, held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, is slated to get going with the men's 8K at 9:40 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 10:30 a.m.
MEET INFO/WHAT TO KNOW
- Duke will feature 18 athletes at the ACC Championships – eight women and 10 men.
- Iris Downes, Lucy Gagnon, Grace Geyer, Lindsay Hausman, Peyton Hollis, Abby Paczewski, Thais Rolly and Hattie Reynolds comprise the women's contingent for the Blue Devils.
- On the men's side, Ryan Banko, Nick Falk, Matthew Farrell, Jeremy Kain, Alden Keller, Duncan Miller, Riley Newport, Jack Stanley, Luke Thompson and Beck Wittstadt will represent Duke.
- The meet will be broadcast live on ACC Network, with live results available via FlashResults HERE.
LAST TIME AT THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Amina Maatoug headlined the day of competition for the Duke cross country team at the ACC Cross Country Championships as the Leiden, Netherlands product turned in a stellar showing in the women's 6K en route to clocking 19.29.9 for the second-place finish and All-ACC honors. Maatoug's finish was the best finish by a Blue Devil runner since Juliet Bottorff captured the ACC individual crown in 2013.
- While Maatoug was the top finisher on the women's side, it was Austin Gabay who led the way for the Blue Devil men with a time of 23:54.6 – good for 24th among the field.
- Both the Duke men and women finished seventh overall in the team standings. The Blue Devil men totaled 205 points on the 8K course while the women's squad finished the 6K race with 186 points.
