DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke swimming and diving team travels to Blacksburg, Virginia, for its first road test against conference foe Virginia Tech Oct. 25 at 2 p.m.
NOTABLES
- The No. 19 Duke women's swimming and diving squad snapped a four-meet losing streak to the Tar Heels, as the Blue Devils earned a 158-142 win over No. 14 North Carolina last Friday inside Taishoff Aquatics Center. On the men's side, the No. 19 Tar Heels topped Duke, 205-95.
- Duke had multiple athletes record program all-time top 10 performances against North Carolina. Freshman Heather White ranks sixth in the 100 free (49.06) and No. 10 in the 100 fly (53.18). Freshman Neala Klein clocked a 9:58.66 in the 1,000 free for seventh place, freshman Tierney Lenahan swam a 52.87 in the 100 back for sixth and sophomore Alexa Conner finished the 200 back in 1:55.87 for sixth as well.
- On the men's side, freshman Charlie Kulp posted a 4:25.87 in the 500 free to move to No. 10 in the program record book, while freshman Anderson Kopp recorded a 9:18.50 in the 1,000 free for the fifth-best mark in school history. Freshman Raphael Wang rounded out the record-breaking efforts, swimming a 1:58.53 in the 200 breast to rank ninth all-time.
- Senior Tatum Wall broke a Taishoff pool record with her leadoff split (48.05) in the 400 free relay against North Carolina, setting a new facility mark in the 100 free.
- The women's team has opened the season with a 4-0 record, marking Duke's best start since the 2022-23 campaign, when the Blue Devils also won four consecutive meets to begin the year.
- The Duke men are seeking their first win over Virginia Tech since the 1991 season, while the women look to earn their fourth consecutive victory over the Hokies.
UP NEXT
- The Blue Devils travel to Evanston, Illinois, to take on Northwestern from Nov. 7-8. Events begin at 6 p.m., Friday and at noon Saturday.
