DURHAM, N.C. – No. 11 Duke men's tennis hits the road for a pair of ACC matches, facing Notre Dame March 7 at 5 p.m. and Louisville March 9 at noon. The Blue Devils opened ACC play by upsetting No. 5 Virginia 5-2 Feb. 28 and posted a 5-0 sweep against Virginia Tech March 2. The win over Virginia was Duke's first against the Cavaliers since 2018 and it also snapped Virginia's 50 match unbeaten streak in ACC play.
RANKED NO. 11 AS A TEAM
Duke climbed to No. 11 in the ITA rankings, as announced March 4. Other ACC schools included in this week's top 50 include No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 5 Virginia, No. 6 NC State, No. 9 Stanford, No. 23 Clemson, No. 25 Florida State, No. 26 Cal, No. 29 Miami and No. 42 Georgia Tech.

ACC OPENING WEEKEND
The Blue Devils are 2-0 to start ACC play after they posted a 5-2 upset win over No. 5 Virginia and a 5-0 sweep over Virginia Tech. The Virginia match marked the highest-ranked opponent win of the year for the Blue Devils. To start off the match, Duke captured the doubles point for the early 1-0 lead. On court two, Duke claimed a 6-3 victory as Williams and Petrovic defeated No. 50 Dylan Dietrich and Mans Dahlberg. On court three, Landau and graduate student
Remy Dugardin topped Rafael Jodar and Jangjun Kim, 6-2, to clinch the doubles point. In singles play, Rodenas, Landau, senior
Connor Krug and Dugardin claimed singles victories.
In the matchup with Virginia Tech, Duke claimed the doubles point to start the match with Williams and Petrovic winning 6-2 on court two and Winegar and Rodenas quickly followed winning their match 6-4 on court one. In singles play, the Blue Devils saw wins from Rodenas, Krug, Dugardin and sophomore
Alexander Visser.
HISTORY WITH NOTRE DAME
This will be the 41st time the Blue Devils and the Fighting Irish are meeting. Duke leads the series 28-12. It posted a 5-2 win last time the two faced in the 2024 season. Duke has won six out of the last 10 meetings, and boasts a 9-6 record in South Bend, Ind.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame has a 10-4 overall record and an 0-2 ACC record. They opened conference matches last weekend against No. 54 Georgia Tech and No. 33 Clemson. Against the Yellow Jackets, they fell 4-1 and against the Tigers they dropped the match 4-2. As a team, they rank No. 52 by ITA. In singles play, junior Sebastian Dominko ranks No. 34.
HISTORY WITH LOUISVILLE
The Blue Devils head into the 13
th meeting with Louisville leading the overall series 10-2. In 2024, Duke posted a home win against Cardinals, 6-1, and have never dropped a match against the Cardinals in Louisville, Ky.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville has an overall record of 5-8 and a 0-2 conference record. Last weekend, they were swept by Clemson (4-0) and against Georgia Tech they lost 4-1. They are not ranked by the ITA and do not have any Cardinals in the singles or doubles rankings.
UP NEXT
After this weekend's road trip, the Blue Devils return home to host SMU March 21 at 2 p.m. and Boston College March 23 at 11 a.m.
